Sometimes, full circle moments have a really wide arc. Along those journeys it helps to have faith that you’ll be lovingly held by the centripetal force of your Soul’s gravity, by your Soul’s chosen destiny. A destiny so compelling that it was worth another lifetime on Earth.

Our destinies are not ego-driven accomplishments and social climbing. Quiet as it’s kept, most of us intended to be here on Earth to heal, to fully open our hearts to give and receive love, and to help others in our lives do the same.

Of course, lots of people’s destinies involve some version of career climbing, public fame, etc. But those things are not the destiny. They may simply provide the conditions that are best for that Soul to heal, open to love, and help others do the same. The destiny is less about what you do in this lifetime, and more about who you become and grow into as you’re doing it.

That’s not the whole story—I could never know, much less articulate, the full meaning of anything. I’m just here pondering and inviting you to ponder along with me.

There’s more to life than what we can readily observe with our 5 physical senses (unless you have that kind of spiritual gift). One of my favorite scientific stats is about the physical stuff we observe in our everyday: “Scientists estimate that ordinary matter makes up only about 5% of the universe” (NASA). A similar stat is that humans see less than 1% of the electromagnetic light spectrum.

The the vast majority of our universe is essentially invisible to humans, even with our advanced technologies. So there’s literally more to our existence than meets the human eye. So much more.

And what shall we do with this information?

My hope is that pondering this gives us greater perspective and helps us loosen our grips on the things we’ve been trying to micromanage. Helps us reconsider those things that we’ve unconsciously made the center of our emotional and psychological universe. Especially those arbitrary standards and hierarchies imposed by society, such as our aging, the shapes of our bodies, what side of town we live on, our job titles, or relationship status.

Destiny isn’t achieving social validation. Destiny is the full expression of your soul, of your self.

You are the destiny. And isn’t that as compelling as it gets?
