I was sitting on the couch one night when a song started playing in my head. The song played like a secondary track running parallel to my conscious thoughts, just off to the side like peripheral hearing. I almost ignored it until I caught on to the lyrics. They sang:
“We’re at the crossroads, my dear. Where do we go from here?”
This was by far the loudest instance of clairaudience I could remember up to that point, and I knew this was my official invitation to fully commit to my authentic spiritual path. I could stay stuck at the same level for the rest of my life. Or I could rise to fulfill my greater destiny.
In the weeks and months after that night, I ran the emotional gauntlet of unknowns. There were so many unknowns, yet never uncertainty. It was my faith in my calling that gave me the courage to move forward despite the shadows of social programming, stigma, judgement and criticism, both real and imagined. What will the academics and corporate folks think? What are the church folks going to say?
You know, another line from that same song says: “It’s such a lonely road.” And oftentimes that’s true—this walk can be a solitary one, as can any radically authentic path.
To quote from a different song… if you’re reading this, I invite you to meet me at the crossroads, because living your most authentic life doesn’t always have to be so lonely. Soul Café, live on November 8th, is a space for celebrating the paths we’ve walked to get here, and cultivating the courage to take the next step on a new path of our own choosing.
So come, fill your cup, and fulfill your destiny at Soul Café LIVE November 8th at 2:00pm ET!
Some of you may join just because you know me and want to show up, or because you’re curious about hearing the whole story, lol. All people with goodwill are welcome!
I look forward to seeing you this Saturday!!!
