New Newsletter Format + Celebrating Dr. Sarah's Solar Return

Hey Beautiful,
Welcome to the brand new format of Dr. Sarahās newsletter, launching at the tippy top of my birthday month and birthday week!
The purpose of this revamp is to provide you with more encouragement and practical wisdom. Whether you just want to feel a little better, make inspired art, or lead a global revolution to change the world, this newsletter applies!
What better time for a redesign than a 40th solar return? You saw that right⦠I turn FORTY on June 6th! š„³ So Iām treating this as the most special week of my year, starting with crafting a new newsletter that feels delightful to deliver.
What you get today is a prototype of what youāll get from me each week in the email format of āYour Weekly Refill.ā
Fill Your Cup: Make Yourself At Home š”
This year the month of June is carrying the vibration of the number 6. Not only is June literally always our 6th month of the year, but the numerology of June 2025 also happens to be 6! This is the energy of home, family, community, love, nurturing, and service. And it includes you nurturing, loving, and being at home with yourself.
This first week of June, our lovely lady Venus moves back into her cozy penthouse cottage in the woods. Meaning: Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure moves into the earthy zodiac sign of Taurus, her home sign. Since Venus is returning home, she wants all of us to feel at home too!
Venus in Taurus is the most overt call to treat yourself and to treat yourself well. This energy will be supporting us for a whole month. You have permission to pamper yourself just for the sake of pleasure. You always do! This month, though, you donāt even have to ājustifyā it by saying things like: āI need to take care of myself so I can continue to show up for others.ā š
This month, practice nurturing your needs and wants just because it feels good to do so. And let the way you take care of your physical and spiritual bodies, demonstrate your capacity for self-love. Remember: āYour body is your first home.ā If youāre shy about this, let Venus lend you her grace as you relax into deeper self-care.
And thereās even more in the month of June! Later this month we enter Cancer season, the zodiac sign that rules⦠(you guessed it!) home, family, roots, and the foundations of our lives. Cancer is a very family oriented sign, whether thatās biological or chosen family. Think about who āyour peopleā are and make time to nurture those relationships too.
Next week, Jupiter the planet of good fortune and expansion will enter the sign of Cancer, lending that area of life even more focus and favor, and it will be there for 12 months!
If youāre anything like me, you can also use these beautiful vibrations in June to spruce up your physical dwelling. See a few of my suggestions in the video below!
Fulfill Your Destiny: Think BIG! š
This week Mercury will meet up with Jupiter at the farthest edge of Gemini. Think BIG! Take your brainstorming, your percolating ideas, your expansive philosophizing, your questions, and stretch them to the edges of your imagination, curiosity, creativity, and spiritual awareness.
The last degree of any zodiac sign is considered peak pressure and highly potent. Itās already a power surge just having Jupiter hanging out here. Now weāre adding a second planet, which is also the ruling planet of Gemini.
This is a great opportunity to activate a mental breakthrough, unlock a new level of conscious awareness, or to have a game-changing conversation. Make a little more time for reading. Try a new podcast. Jot down your seemingly random thoughts and ideas, because they could turn out to be gems.
I often associate Gemini energy with the translucent puffball of dandelion seeds being blown into the wind, carrying forth our wishes to take root in the future.
POETRY: āMoving towards Homeā by JUNE Jordan
I begin this month of June with a featured poem by a poet who bears the same name: June Jordan (1936 - 2002). I had dinner with a former mentee yesterday, and she was carrying June Jordanās poetry collection Living Room, which is where this weekās featured poem was published.
In her poem āMoving towards Home,ā June Jordan bears witness to those whose homes are colonized, stolen, bulldozed, blown to bits; those whose homes are violently emptied of family members; those who are seeking home once again through the wilderness of grief.
The full piece is linked above, and I quote a portion of it below:
those are the ones from whom we must redeem
the words of our beginning
because I need to speak about home
I need to speak about living room
where the land is not bullied and beaten to
a tombstone
I need to speak about living room
where the talk will take place in my language
I need to speak about living room
where my children will grow without horror
I need to speak about living room where the men
of my family between the ages of six and sixty-five
are not
marched into a roundup that leads to the grave
I need to talk about living room
where I can sit without grief without wailing aloud
for my loved ones
where I must not ask where is Abu Fadi
because he will be there beside me
I need to talk about living room
because I need to talk about home
I was born a Black woman
and now
I am become a Palestinian
against the relentless laughter of evil
there is less and less living room
and where are my loved ones?
It is time to make our way home.
