As we navigate eclipse season, consider what is shedding from your life. You may not know yet. Maybe you sense that something has loosened, like a baby tooth that wiggles a little more each day, but you can’t guess how or when it will fall. The details of what this shedding looks like for you may reach a sudden crescendo or be gradually unveiled in the weeks and months to come.

That’s because there’s a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse with the North Node in Pisces this weekend. The North Node is like a compass for fulfilling our destiny. We can think of it as the direction our souls are evolving toward. Not a specific outcome, but simply a directional pull forward. In this sense it represents our future potential, growth edges, and new horizons. I see it as new frontiers to explore rather than a predetermined path that leads to fixed point.

Flavor of the Week 😋

While the North Node is about the future, full moons are about the culmination of something previous, endings, and letting go, like overripe fruit falling from the tree and rotting away to nourish next season’s new seeds. We can learn from fruit. In order for our cycles of life to continue, we must allow the old to shed away.

Sometimes what’s shedding away is intangible, like a mindset, behavior, or emotional attachment that does not honor our dignity or divinity. Maybe you’re shedding an old identity or an old way of being seen and known in the world.

In the sign of Pisces, it’s more possible that this process of letting go feels like a sacrifice. We may realize it’s time to release something that we really liked, something we had actually planned to keep, something we had no plans of leaving behind. Yet it simply does not align with the next chapter of our destiny.

Pisces energy beckons us to the realization of how we’ve been sacrificing ourselves in the name of protecting other people’s peace and comfort. Where in your life have you regularly denied your needs, desires, and dreams in order to please others? This is especially relevant in situations where the other party is unwilling to do the same for you. Mutual compromise is one thing. One-sided martyrdom is another.

Lean on Venus in Leo

“Show me someone not full of herself and I’ll show you a hungry person”

-Nikki Giovanni “Poem For A Lady Whose Voice I Like”

Venus in Leo is very self-love oriented. This vibe can support you in ending patterns of always prioritizing other people’s preferences over your own. Venus in Leo can help alleviate insecurities and heal self-esteem and self-confidence. You are divine and you are loved by a source beyond our imaginations. Don’t entertain situations that make you feel otherwise.

Pyramid Prism

One of my favorite song lyrics of all time say:

“Your mind is like a prism for God’s light to shine through.”

Solange, “I Decided”

Your entire being, your entire life is a prism for divine light, babe. Don’t let anyone dim it.

Get Grounded in Your Spirituality

The deep and ethereal sign of Pisces is also a channel for spiritual connection and expression. It’s unity consciousness, reminding us we are never alone and we are all connected to each other, to the earth, to the cosmos, and to spirit.

With the Sun and the South Node in the earthy and practical sign of Virgo, we can focus now on how we ground our spiritual connection into our nervous system. How can you organize practical details of your life to create space for spiritual flow? How can you infuse your everyday with a sense of spirit and mysticism? This is the bedrock for my gospel of romanticizing your life! 😉

We don’t have to escape the mundane world to access spirit. We can instead leverage everyday routines and rituals to remind ourselves that we’re always connected.

These rituals don’t have to be sensational. It can simply be a ritual of gazing up at the sky every time you step outside. Or a ritual of staring into the eyes of someone you love. Do you make time to journal, to sit in silence, to daydream, to breathe deeply and intentionally, to stretch, to savor the mundane magic of any given moment?

This eclipse with a trine to exalted Jupiter might make us more aware of how we can create greater cohesion between how we human and how we spirit.

The Prism, Again

Yall know I enjoy tarot cards. Using The HooDoo Tarot this week we got the Big Mama card and the Ten of Baskets. This is a ridiculously happy and blessed combination of cards! They speak to an abundance of love, joy, and vitality. This reflects the eclipse trine to Jupiter, the planet of blessings, abundance, protection, and faith.

What’s delightfully synchronistic is that in traditional tarot these cards are the Sun and the 10 of Cups, which prominently features a shining rainbow across the top. It’s a clear message of the Sun (Divine Light) shining through the prism of our lives.

And for the final garnish: The 10 of Cups is specifically a Pisces card!

I’m sensing that this eclipse will help bring clarity to who our people are. We will see and feel who we really belong with, who’s our authentic community.

Open Mic 🎤

I recently learned about this jazz musician named Braxton Cook. One song in particular has stood out to me for the title: “Not Everyone Can Go.” With this eclipse energy of shedding, I’m feeling it for our Open Mic feature this week. For at least some of us, what we need to release are old relationships or old versions of relationships or old ways of doing relationships.

Not everyone can go, and those who do go with us into the next phase of our evolution will be held more closely and more deeply than ever. 😊

Either way, I hope you enjoy the music!

Sincerely,
